Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF) Requalifying Course
Who Should Attend?
The course is specifically designed to allow first aiders to renew their first aid at work qualification when their certificate is due to expire.
NOTE: Attendees will need to be able to present proof of a valid L3 First Aid at Work certificate or one which is within 28 days of expiry date.
What will Attendees learn?
They will update and refresh their knowledge and skills of the Level 3 First Aid at Work course enabling them to respond to a range of first aid emergencies and a variety of injuries and medical conditions in the workplace.
FAW requalification courses are only 12 hours in duration, compared to 18 hours for the initial course. This means that the syllabus is covered at a significantly faster pace in the understanding that learners are familiar with the topics. Learners will requalify for the three day course which consists of two units
Unit 1: Emergency First Aid in the Workplace
Unit 2: Recognition and Management of Illness in the Workplace.
The course covers the following areas:
- The role and responsibilities of the First Aider
- Assessing an managing an unresponsive casualty, CPR, heart attacks, choking, head and spinal injuries, fractures, anaphylaxis, stroke, burns and more.

In order to acheive the qualification, the full 12 hours need to be completed and the learner will need to demonstrate competence in the practical assessments they will be observed carrying out. Assessment will be continuous throughout the course and there are two theory assessment/multiple choice question papers to be completed also.
